Argentarius was one of the exhibitor sponsors at IMN’s 1st Annual Conference on European Alternative Financing & Marketplace Lending, which took place on the 28th May 2015 at One Great George Street, Westminster, London SW1P 3AA.

The Argentarius securitisation platform attracted asset managers looking for securitisation as an alternative financing solution. As a special promotion we offered a complimentary weekend break for two to Malta at the exhibition. All the visitors were eager to guess the number of beads in the box at our stand and will be advised of the lucky winner by 30th June 2015.

Attendees included: Blackrock, Citi, Deutsche Bank, Macquarie Bank, RBS, Asset Management and Private Equity Firms, Leaders in the European Alternative Finance and Marketplace Lending and Regulators.

The conference focused on three main topics: technology, transparency and awareness.

The morning session covered topics of alternative finance, regulatory & political landscape and the importance of reporting and technology. In the afternoon debates were held with the following subjects: the role, challenges and regulations of crowdfunding, P2P and marketplace lending; the importance of alternative lenders; the role of banks; the rise of funds and insurers in direct lending; borrowers perspective; the role of equity, debt and securitisation for alternative finance providers and investors.

The event was closed by a networking reception where all participants could come together and relax after a long day of discussion why alternative finance is required, the future of the industry and the benefits for both lenders/investors and borrowers.

We were pleased to discuss these topics as now we have several investment manager clients launching products in this sector after launching the Solid Venture P2P ETI this March backed by investments in an underlying portfolio of P2P loans listed on the EWSM available to UCITS fund managers.

Last but not least we would like to thank the host – IMN – for organizing such an outstanding event and we look forward to participating in future conferences set up by them.
