Following the incorporation of the Cayman Islands-based investment firm, Argentarius Securities & Investment Business Corporation this summer, Argentarius Group executive managers Andreas Wolfl and Edit Czigler went to a Business Trip to the Cayman Islands from 16th august returning on the 23rd august. The Argentarius team used the opportunity to meet up with the local stock exchange as well as with the leading law firms. Furthermore, meetings were held to explore partnerships with Cayman Island fund administrators and corporate service providers. Especially the Argentarius solution to issue listed structured instruments linked to Cayman Island funds thus providing an alternative access to the European market raised significant interest from local service providers. Also, portfolio linked notes and SPV- as well as Fund-linked Exchange Traded Instruments for the US and Asian market were discussed with the prospective partner network.
“Cayman is the sixth largest International Financial Center in the world and number one jurisdiction for alternative investment vehicles. It was a logical next step to set up an investment firm as part of Argentarius Group here”, says Andreas Wolfl, who will also act as director of Argentarius Securitisation & Investment Business Corporation. The Management Team also set up Segregated Portfolio Companies (SPCs) as an Issuer of structured securities as well as another one as an acquisition vehicle for the issuance of portfolio linked notes.
“We will use the Cayman issuer especially as a hub for Exchange Traded Instruments designed for the US and Asian market as Cayman is the key vehicle jurisdiction for these markets” adds Edit Czigler, who acts as a director of Argentarius Securities & Investment Business Corporation as well as on the Cayman SPCs.
The Business trip was rounded up with the first board meeting of the Argentarius investment firm and viewings of prospective office space on the island.
